PoundHost Internet operates a secure suite in the BlueSquare Data Centre located in Maidenhead, Berkshire.
PoundHost Internet also operate a Cisco and Extreme Networks powered, carrier class, 20Gbit network with pan-European peering and transit from the likes of Level(3) and Tiscali to name a few, ensuring your server is always connected with the lowest possible latency.
Network Presence Explained...
Our PoP's (Points of Presence) are connected via our own fibre optic metro
ring based in London docklands, with routing equipment located in each data
centre, thus we are never dependant upon one data centre for connectivity,
should power fail at any particular facility. We take connections from peers
and providers at speeds no less than 1Gbit in capacity from two or more buildings,
ensuring we always have spare redundant capacity available.
Network Hardware Explained...
All of our network hardware operates in a redundant fashion, with dual power
supplies, dual management cards and processors along with dual line cards
for no single point of failure. We also lease diverse redundant capacity from
our London Docklands hub to the BlueSquare data centre, giving PoundHost Internet
a total current capacity of some 20Gbits per second, one of the highest line
rates in the industry.

The BlueSquare data centre boasts fully redundant power and air handling systems, including N+1 close control down flow units, N+1 UPS power systems and standby diesel generator with sufficient fuel for 48 hours continuous operation, with local 4 hour refuelling contracts for non-stop usage.
The facility itself is secured by a three-metre manned and CCTV-covered perimeter fence, with photo recognition for each person entering the building. Security includes a 4-layer system, ensuring personnel who have entered the reception area can not travel any further without being identified by the proximity PAC-TAG reader system. Web-based and digitally recorded CCTV capture all persons entering and leaving the data floor including a recording of any equipment bought to, or removed from site.
