Back to the Beginning...
PoundHost was born in 1998 (then known as Neighbourhood Internet) by the current
Managing Partner, Matthew Munson.
Matthew comments:
"We started Neighbourhood Internet back in '98 as a direct result of our work with the UK Neighbourhood Watch Association, providing infrastructure and design services. Our work naturally evolved in assisting the sponsors of Neighbourhood Watch, which included companies like Norwich Union, with their website and internet needs.
Our dynamic approach to non-profit making organisations soon spread, and we quickly found ourselves dealing with other charities, including large Zoos (providing infrastructure services for park wide automated webcams and websites) and more.
We realised that we could leverage the networks we were deploying for our customers, and integrate our own server hosting company into this, thus reducing hosting costs for existing customers and keeping all our work 'in-house'. Within a short period of time we opened our own data centre in Maidenhead to host our own, and our customers servers under the PoundHost name.
We are still following the same path today, increasing our focus on the server hosting market, and backing the business with class leading customer support as standard, which has helped us to become one of the UK's largest server hosting companies to date."
